2021 Progress in Algeria

In 2021, thanks to the longstanding support of the UK Government and the Citi Foundation, EFE trained 474 youth in Algeria through its three flagship training programs: Employability (286 youth), Job Training and Placement (286 youth), and Entrepreneurship (33 youth).

For the first time in the country, EFE also piloted technical trainings in green sectors including waste management, building rehabilitation, aquaculture, and solar energy.

EFE also continued promoting systemic change for youth employment by training 24 trainers in Tamanrasset and holding two multi-stakeholder events in Béchar, both Southern wilayas of Algeria.

In 2022, EFE aims to support an additional 580 youth to acquire the skills they need to access the labor market through current and new projects funded by the UK Government, Citi Foundation, the Dutch Embassy to Algeria, Alstom Foundation, and Think Human Foundation.
