On 24 March, the French Ambassador to Jordan David Bertolotti and the Jordanian Minister of Labor Samir Murad joined EFE-Jordan for a behind-the-scenes 'kitchen tour' of our training program for unemployed Syrian refugees and Jordanian youth. Thanks to our partnership with the Agence Française de Développement, 1,350 Syrian and Jordanian youth will train side-by-side learning the skills in demand for jobs in the hospitality industry, such as chefs and bakers. The training is especially critical for female Syrian refugees, who receive only 4% of the work permits that Jordan awards to Syrians refugees seeking work. In Jordan, EFE is one of the few organizations linking unemployed Syrian refugees with work skills and job opportunities in the formal labor market.
