Through the Upper Egypt Youth Employment Project, EFE-Egypt is working with Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and Shaghalni to support real job opportunities for 825 young men and women from Sohag and Qena.  While the project serves youth from two governorates in Upper Egypt along the Nile Valley, it connects them to employment opportunities in Egypt’s growing Red Sea economy, including the tourism and hospitality, maritime, and marketing and sales sectors.

As part of the Maritime Industries Training Program, EFE-Egypt hosted a recruitment day in Sohag, bringing together 34 program graduates and four maritime sector employers. Participants interviewed directly with recruiters, explored available positions, and showcased the skills they gained through the program.

The event resulted in multiple job placements, demonstrating how the project is connecting young people from Upper Egypt with employment opportunities in Egypt’s growing maritime industry.
