EFE-Maroc has officially launched SHIFT (Skilling for High-Impact Future Transitions), a five-year program supported by the Mastercard Foundation that aims to create more than 80,000 skilling opportunities and enable 60,000 dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for young people in Morocco, with at least 70% of these opportunities expected to be for young women.

Focused on Morocco’s growing Global Business Services (GBS) sector, SHIFT will align training with employer demand, strengthen pathways from skills development into sustained employment, and support long-term career progression. The program will particularly focus on women, rural youth, people with disabilities, migrants, and returnees.

SHIFT will also bring together public institutions, private-sector leaders, and civil society organizations to strengthen Morocco’s GBS ecosystem and build a more inclusive, future-ready workforce. Its launch follows more than a year of preparation and collaboration, including strategic planning, community engagement, learning visits, workshops, and focus groups with young people.
