EFE's "Just Transition Challenge" project, funded by Hivos, is progressing steadily. Following a selection process that included market research, outreach, and interviews, 4 Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs) have been chosen to participate. These SGBs operate in the sectors of beauty products, algaculture, and lighting manufacturing.

To ensure targeted support, EFE will conduct individual needs assessments for each SGB starting in September. Following this, detailed contracts will be signed, and the SGBs will receive both financial assistance and comprehensive technical and business model support services.

This initiative aims to empower these businesses, foster growth, and create a significant number of jobs for young people in Algeria. By June 2025, the project is expected to generate 1,600 new employment opportunities.
